West London Queer Project (WLQP) is thrilled to announce their 3rd annual ‘Pride Month 10K Walk & Celebration - In aid of Motor Neurone Disease’, on Saturday the 7th of June.
The event aims to celebrate Pride Month by bringing the LGBT+ community and their allies together, for a day of fun, visibility, and togetherness, as well as promoting physical activity, and raising some much-needed funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of West London.

To accommodate for the increasing number of participants, and to officiate the opening of the annual Hammersmith Street Fair, this year, the assembly point and start of the 10k walk will be held at Lyric Square in Hammersmith.
Everyone is invited to join in the walk, which will wind through scenic routes showcasing the natural beauty of West London.
While fundraising is not compulsory, WLQP encourages participants to help raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (West London branch) by creating their own JustGiving page or entering their online raffle to win one of many wonderful prizes donated by several West London businesses.

The Route
Starting at Lyric Square in Hammersmith, participants will meet from 9am for registration, followed by a warm-up session at 9:50am before the walk begins promptly at 10am.
The route will take walkers across the iconic Hammersmith Bridge, along the south side of the river Thames, passing by the picturesque Barnes and stunning Mortlake areas before crossing over Chiswick Bridge. The home stretch will lead participants through Dukes Meadows and Chiswick Mall, culminating at The Black Lion pub.
The route will be clearly marked, with maps available, and marshals will be stationed along the route to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.

The Celebration
With its recently refurbished garden, The Black Lion in Hammersmith will mark the end of the 10k walk as well as host the after party ‘Celebration’.
Attendees can look forward to a fun-filled afternoon of delicious food and drink, outrageous comedy, as well as dancing and singing along to performances from Vanity Von Glow, Luna Cortez, Brent Would, and the hilarious Beary Poppins who is once again hosting the event.
Tickets, which include entry into the walk and after party, a Progressive Pride Flag, a WLQP commemorative medal + a £5 food voucher for The Black Lion and a pint of larger or a soft drink, can be purchased from www.wlqp.org

“Pride Month is not just a celebration, it's a powerful reminder of the battles fought, the voices that rose in defiance, and the ongoing journey toward equality, dignity, and love for all.”
“Unfortunately, the current political environment sees the LGBTQ+ community once again being used as a political pawn with our rights becoming increasingly fragile, making this Pride Month ever more important.”
“I hope that you can join us on the 7th of June as we come together to celebrate our solidarity and defiance, and whilst also raising some much-needed funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.” – Aubrey Crawley, Founder & CEO, West London Queer Project
