About the Session
Pregnancy, birth and early parenthood can bring significant emotional, physical and social changes. For gender-diverse individuals and families, these experiences may be further shaped by challenges around identity, visibility and access to inclusive support.
This session will explore:
Gender diversity within the perinatal period
The mental health needs and experiences of gender-diverse parents
Barriers that individuals may encounter when accessing services
How healthcare professionals and organisations can provide more inclusive, affirming and equitable care
The event is open to anyone interested in improving understanding, awareness and support for LGBTQIA+ people during pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
About the Organisers
This event has been organised by members of the West London Perinatal Mental Health Service LGBTQIA+ Working Group.
