Tabard Theatre, Chiswick - Running 12th -14th March
Backstage on Christmas Eve 2025 at the Palace Theatre, Fleetwood, the dressing room lights burn bright and the past refuses to stay buried.
Slay Belles, written and directed by Anna-Lisa Maree, is a wickedly dark comedy-drama unfolding behind the glittering curtain of British pantomime.
Former 80s sitcom star Linda Godfrey (Catherine Rice), clings to fading fame while the ghosts of her past begin closing in. Her daughter Cassie (Anna-Lisa Maree) has reluctantly returned from New York, leaving behind her trusted friend and confidante Rusty Cadillac, a dazzling Broadway drag diva voiced by Kris Andersson, internationally known for his iconic drag persona Dixie Longate.
Meanwhile, pantomime producer, Charlie Delamere (Paul Winterford) is overwhelmed with glitter and exhaustion, Super-fan Peter’s devotion keeps the past alive, whilst crew member Doug’s loyalty proves disturbingly misplaced (both characters are portrayed by George C Francis).

The play is written in loving memory of trailblazing British drag queen and theatrical costumier, Giles Edwin Bishop (1970–2024), a beloved performer at The Way Out Club and former Way Out Spice Girl. Giles helped shape a generation of queer nightlife and performance, proving that glitter, courage and wit could light the way for those who followed.
Slay Belles explores fame, addiction, queer identity and power. Reminding us that sequins and sparkle aren’t just decoration - they are legacy.
