We're looking for a Volunteer Coordinator (this is a volunteer position) to join the West London Queer Project Team.


Overview

The West London Queer Project (WLQP) is a non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) driven by the desire to connect, support and give voice to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and other sexual and gender identifying (LGBTQ+) people in West London. ​Our organisation aims to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people in West London and beyond. We offer fun events, a safe space, a welcoming, supportive and safe environment to uplift, empower, and connect as well as advocacy, awareness-raising and change making activities among local policy-makers.

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and strengthening our volunteer programme. This position is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and engaging volunteers, while ensuring a positive and consistent experience that reflects the values of our organisation.



Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess volunteer applications in a timely and thoughtful manner

  • Provide onboarding and orientation for new volunteers, ensuring they feel welcomed and well-prepared

  • Coordinate and manage perks, recognition, and engagement initiatives for regular volunteers

  • Oversee volunteer sourcing and scheduling for events and organisational activities

  • Maintain and update the volunteer database, ensuring accurate and organised records

  • Support ongoing communication with volunteers and act as a key point of contact
