St Michael & All Angels presents The Bedford Park Festival 6 – 22 June 2025, celebrating 150 years of Bedford Park.
From the novel by Chiswick’s EM Forster, the Merchant-Ivory film tells of the repression of homosexual feelings against a backdrop of a stifling Edwardian England. Featuring James Wilby, Hugh Grant, Rupert Graves, Ben Kingsley and Simon Callow. Plus locally filmed interview with director James Ivory.
Maurice was the film which gave Hugh Grant his big break. Merchant Ivory were known for picking the best actors for the part and taking a risk on young talent.
