Kensington and Chelsea

Kensington and Chelsea have a rich LGBTQ+ history, with landmarks like Oscar Wilde's former home at 34 Tite Street, Chelsea, and the Gateways Club at 239 King's Road, a renowned lesbian nightclub from 1936 to 1985. The area also hosted the Sappho group for lesbians at the Chepstow pub and the September Group for older gay men at the Unitarian Hall. Additionally, the Queens Head in Chelsea was one of London's longest-standing gay pubs.
