About the event

You don’t need to pay to attend this walk, however you will be responsible for arranging your own transport. Train details noted below.

Trains to Shoeburyness.

We will be getting the 9:53am train from Fenchurch Street Station, arriving in Shoeburyness at 11:17am

We recommend that you get an open return ticket from London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness.

Meeting point - From London:

We will meet outside Fenchurch Street Station at 9:20am. We will be boarding the train as soon as boarding commences to try and ensure we can all get a seat, so please arrive no later than 9:35am.

For people meeting us at Shoeburyness station, we will arrive just before 11:20am and will meet everyone at Showburyness station.

Return to London.

We will be taking the train back from Leigh-on-Sea around 5-6pm. We expect that this adventure walk will take approximately 5-6 hours with rest points and breaks planned throughout, we cannot guarantee exactly what time train we will be taking back to London, however train services run regularly along this route with a train back to London approximately every 15-20 minutes.

What to bring.

Comfortable walking shoes/trainers are required for this walk. The route is mostly flat, but there will be some points where we will need to walk up hill, and parts where we will be walking on sandy beaches.

Drinking water is essential. There will be opportunities to buy more water along the route, but please note that there may be parts of the walk where there will be long distances and no shops to buy supplies.

Lunch and snacks. We will plan for at least a 30 minute lunch break when we get to Southend (half way along the route). You can either bring your own pack lunch with you, or there are many places along the high street where you can grab some food or drinks.

We aim to arrive at Leigh on Sea around 3:30pm where we will stop for a drink or two before taking our return train back to London.
