Thanks to a successful application with Hounslow Council’s Thriving Communities Fund, we are now able to continue with our Touch Rugby sessions, the LGBTQ+ Parents and Kids events and our West London Walks for the next 12 months.
Not only is it one of our main priorities to provide a variety of different events that cater for a broader spectrum within our community, but also to ensure that a number of these events are free, giving everyone the opportunity to attend or take part in them.
Our Touch Rugby sessions are proving to be very popular, and we love seeing the diversity in all of those taking part. Games are mixed gender and it’s very easy to pick up and play, regardless of age or ability, so why not give it a try?
The goal is to continue with the taster sessions until a time when, and with the intention of, developing a WLQP team that can take part in the Touch Rugby leagues and tournaments. Watch this space!
For the parents in our community, we are delighted to share with you that every first Sunday of the month, starting on Sunday the 4th of September, we will be hosting an LGBTQ+ Parents & Kids Brunch in the Boston Room at the George IV in Chiswick. Parents will be given the opportunity to mingle over brunch while their children will be safely entertained with games and crafts provided by ‘The Kid’s Table’.
We are also looking into a variety of other possible events to start hosting and aim to provide a full bouquet of family events.
Our West London Walks are also proving to be very popular and again, we love seeing the diversity in all of those taking part. Every month, we will explore different hidden gems, places of interest and beauty spots within West London.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued love and support over the past two years! Without you, the WLQP would not exist.
On Sunday the 28th of August (Bank holiday weekend) we are celebrating our second birthday at the George IV with the gorgeous and talented Crystal Lubrikunt, the hysterical drag king Louis Cyfer and DJ El Conchitas! Tickets are on sale now and we hope to see you all there.
